Where do you want to use your patio heater?

Start by considering the area you want to heat. A small seating area on a balcony, for example, requires a different patio heater than a large veranda or spacious patio.

Patio or garden

For an open patio, a powerful infrared patio heater is a good choice. Infrared heat mainly warms people and objects within its heating range rather than the surrounding air. This allows you to experience targeted heat quickly.

Under a covered patio or veranda

Under a covered patio, you can choose a hanging patio heater or a wall-mounted model. This keeps the floor area free while allowing the heat to be directed towards the seating area.

Balcony

Space on a balcony is often limited. A compact wall-mounted, hanging or tabletop model can therefore be a practical solution. Always check whether the chosen model is suitable for the intended location and follow the recommended safety distances.

How many watts do I need?

The required power output depends on factors such as the size of your outdoor space and how sheltered it is. A small, sheltered seating area will generally require less power than a large, completely open patio.

That is why you should not only look at the wattage. Also consider the heating range and hot zone of the patio heater. The hot zone is the area in which the heat is experienced most intensely.
